To fly a Balloon, it needs light winds and good visibility especially for the pilot with no rain. Amboseli Ballooning Safaris looks deeply into all these before starting a flight. The launch site is chosen with regard to the wind speed and direction and if the weather does not concur with expectations, the flight is always postponed and rescheduled according to the guests’ convenience.


Is there any height limit when ballooning?

Amboseli Balloon Safari trip flights flies from the top of a tree to 3000 feet above the ground level, this is the highest limit to fly in.


What is the right clothing for ballooning?

The chase crew, how do they know where balloon lands?

The chase crew is supposed to be in contact with the pilot at all times throughout the Balloon Safari and follows the Balloon while travelers are in flight. It is well briefed and with lots of experience.


Is There A Pilot Briefing?

Yes. The previous evening, the pilot is expected to give you the exact time you will be picked from your lodge and all the information that you need to be ready. The pilot can also cancel the flight if he or she feels is not safe so you should keep in mind that Balloon Safari is weather permitting.#pilotbriefing


When and where do the travelers meet the pilot?

Travelers should meet the pilot at the launch site one hour before the flight for some briefing. The pilot chooses the launch site depending on the conditions of weather and wind direction. Travelers are given only two briefings; the first will be after you have got into the basket and the second will be given shortly before the pilot lands to the ground.


Can visitors bring their own cameras?

Yes you can bring cameras; binoculars are recommended on the flight. One thing though, Amboseli Balloon Safaris do not accept responsibility for personal belongings so cameras are brought at owners risk.
